Hardware

The MailFoundry product line is a 1u or 2u rack mounted anti-spam network appliance. Each MailFoundry appliance runs on a hardened version of the Linux operating system. As an appliance, MailFoundry is completely locked down with all management functions done by an easy to use web-based management system.

Security

The MailFoundry network appliance is optimally located on the periphery of your network in the area commonly referred to as the DMZ, not on your mail server, and preserves bandwidth, storage space and other precious network resources. From there, it can provide protection from DOS (denial of service) attacks and hackers and act as a shield to your existing mail server. The system itself is immune to PC-based viruses

Adaptive Network

Solinus'® human editors are constantly monitoring and analyzing spam to stay on top of the latest trends in spam production.

Updates to the MailFoundry™ appliance are distributed through the adaptive network as needed. No downtime is required for the updates.

Deployment

MailFoundry is best positioned on the periphery of your network. It can be clustered for increased capacity and redundancy. The 2100 is scalable to process email for 2,500 users, the 4100 can handle 10,000 users, the 6100 can handle 20,000 users and the 8100 can manage 30,000 users.

Administration and Reporting

The MailFoundry network appliance features easy administration through a secure web interface. Using the lightning setup wizard, the appliance can be operational in less than 15 minutes. It also offers email statistics, logging and reporting capabilities through the external syslog.

Additional Features

MailFoundry™ offers the use of first generation technologies such as reverse path DNS, real-time black hole lists (RBL's), although they are not necessary. In addition, we also offer whitelists for an added level of end user comfort.

Disaster Recovery

The MailFoundry™ network appliance is engineered for off-site backup of server configuration for quick restoration in the event of some unforeseen disaster. If a customer's email server were ever to become unavailable, MailFoundry would spool the mail until the regular mail server comes back online. Failover is supported either through redundant servers or backup combined with extended support.

Support

Support is offered free of charge from 8:00AM-5:00PM Central Standard Time. 24/7/365 extended support is also available.
"I can say without a doubt the unit is not coming back to you :) It is the
best investment we have made in a while."
